Two Light Bases For An Extra 10 Minutes In Bed

As the weather gets colder my morning routine changes dramatically. For one reason and one reason only, I want to stay in bed. The mornings can be so horrible, it's still dark outside, it's cold, it's wet. And I do not want to be spending twenty minutes buffing away at my face. That's where lighter bases come in.

The Chanel VitaLumiere Aqua Foundation* - £32.00, is fantastic for days when I want to make somewhat of an effort. It's lightweight, the coverage is buildable and it holds itself nicely throughout the day. The formula itself is such a pleasure to use, it blends beautifully, matches my skin tone perfectly and has a really nice subtle fragrance to it.

The Limited Collection Moisture Tint - £5.00, is one of my most recent discoveries. This is everything I want from a tinted moisturiser, it's super hydrating, easily absorbed and it evens out my skin tone. On very good skin days this is all I'll use, but 99% of the time I will use this with a concealer and together they blend seamlessly.

I take a small amount of either and use my fingers to massage it into the skin. Both blend beautifully without brushes, remember your hands are natures tools and you don't need an arsenal of professional brushes to do your daily makeup. Then using the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and a damp beauty blender I cover up any blemishes, scaring or red patches.

At first I was weary, I have scaring from horrible breakouts that I thought I needed to cover with lots of layers to last. But the truth is, I am a lot happier reapplying concealer from daily wear, when I don't have a full face of makeup. Well, my version of a full face anyway.  An extra 10 minutes in bed will always get a thumbs up from me.

What changes have you made to your morning routine recently? Do you use tinted moisturisers and light bases in the winter?
