The June Make Up Bag

I cannot believe I almost forgot about the June makeup bag! Last month was quite plain in terms of every day, but I did manage to find a couple of old favourites. I've kept it simple but discovered some new techniques along the way.

As a base, I have fallen back in love with the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua - £33.00 in 10 beige. As the weather gets warmer I prefer a lighter base and this formula blends into the skin beautifully. This was actually the first ever high-end foundation and almost 5 years later I still love it.

The Body Shop Honey Bronzing Powder - £13.00 in 01 has been an absolute godsend again. As you know I'm a bit scared of contouring and this is subtle and easy enough to give my face some shape. And again the New CID Cosmetics iGlow Compact Shimmer - £24.00 in Ice Pop has been my go to blush to add a pop of colour to an otherwise neutral look. And the slight shimmer works with the light base to create a healthy glow.

And, of course, no shocker here, the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara - £19.50 (full review here) has been my go-to mascara. I know you're probably sick of seeing it but don't worry I've had my eye on a couple of new high street releases.

For my brows, I have been switching between the Benefit Gimme Brow Gel - £18.50 in Medium/Deep and the Soap & Glory Archery 2in1 Brow Pencil - £8.00 in Hot Chocolate. (full review here) On days when I prefer a strong arch, I will opt for the latter. And if I just can't decide I'll use a bit of both. With the pencil, I define the tail of my brow and gradually fade it into the arch before combing through the front with the gimme brow to thicken them.

Even though I've kept the base pretty simple I wanted my eyes to have a little something-something. So I dug out another old favourite of mine, the Illamasqua Reflection Palette - £34.00. I took the lightest shade, Precipice a frosted warm light yellow and popped this onto the centre of the lid and the inner corners. At first I wasn't sure that this shade would work, but it looks clean and fresh against my pale skin tone.

Finally on the lips I have been loving the Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Colour - £20.00 in Coral Pink 32. It's on the sheerer side of things but is great to throw in your handbag for a quick wash of colour on the go. I also found that I can set this with a translucent powder for a brighter lip option.

What products have you been loving through June? Which mascaras should I be trying?
