The May Make Up Bag

It's that time again, I had such a great response from last months Make Up Bag post that I couldn't wait to talk about my 'face' of May. To be honest, the last couple of months have flown by. I think it's because I have so much to do, my lists are mocking me! I've got carried away with testing so many products that I've really stepped out of my comfort zone when it comes to beauty.

Last summer I was obsessed with Bourjois' Radiance Reveal Healthy Mix Foundation - £9.99 and this year has been exactly the same. This has a light to medium coverage and blends beautifully into the skin leaving a light dewy finish. I've found that using this with a sponge or my Louise Young LY34 gives a beautifully natural look.

To give my face some definition I've dug out the Laura Mercier Colour to Go Palette in Natural Nudes again. The Bronzing Pressed Powder gives a subtle colour that is easy buildable for days where I want to add some more oomph. I swirl this around with a fluffy brush and dust this onto anywhere the sun would naturally hit the face. I found a really helpful 'face map' online that has been my saviour! Surprisingly I've really been into blush. It's never something that I've been that fussed about, I would slap in on my cheeks and run out the door. But after watching plenty of Jaclyn Hill's You Tube videos I've been converted. This palette contains a Second Skin Cheek Colour which has a gorgeous gold shimmer running through it that brightens up my cheeks and helps me look ready for the day.

For some added shimmer, I've been dusting a small amount of the Revlon Highlighting Palette in Rose Glow - £8.99 on the tops of my cheeks. It's another layer that adds some colour but with a little blending this compliments the Laura Mercier shades beautifully.

Of course no surprise here, I am still in love with the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara - £19.50. It gives such amazing volume and length to my lashes that nothing else can compare to. Something new from Benefit this month is their Gimme Brow Gel - £18.50. If you didn't know throughout the month of May all proceeds from Brow Wax appointments went to the Look Good Feel Better and Refuge charities as part of the Bold is Beautiful Campaign. And with every Brow Wax appointment made, customers received a free Gimme Brow Gel! I've been in love and am so thankful that I finally got my hands on one. I get my brows tinted anyway, but this thickens them beyond belief and makes casual days so much easier!

As the days have been longer I've been going out a lot more often and find that the L'Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim - £6.99 is an evening must have. My flick technique is improving and I've been testing different looks before I go to bed. I find that this needs reapplying as the colour fades in the heat but this is super quick and easy thanks to the fine applicator.

The Topshop Lipstick in Innocent was probably my second step towards brighter  lip colours. I have always been a natural kind of girl. But out of nowhere I was drawn to high pigment and this shade is just beautiful. During the day I wear this alone but when it comes to the evening I pair this with the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Eastend Snob - £3.99 and a clear gloss to really accentuate the pout.

For days when I'm on the go I reach for the Dior Addict Lip Glow - £23.50, as always. This has almost run out so I'm trying to make it last as long as I can. I don't know what I'd do without it.

And breath. That has been the longest Make Up bag post to date. I think that since my skin has cleared up I've been a lot more  confident when it comes to experimenting with makeup. And I'm super excited to see what June brings.

What makeup products have you been loving this month? Have you discovered some old favourites recently?
