The Festival Of Love!

Last weekend I managed to stop by Southbank for The Festival of Love. Some of my family had come to London for the day and the weather was lovely! Along the river lives lots of street performers, carnival rides and food vendors. There are lots of similar events lined up for the rest of the year, so definitely check their website to see if anything takes your fancy! (Photo heavy post)

"Over two months, Southbank Centre brings together hundreds of artists, communities and partners to create its Festival of Love. Our festival, which celebrates the Same Sex Couple Act, features an exciting programme of free events, differently-themed weekends, performances, poetry, talks and pop-ups. Our Thames-side site is also being transformed by several large-scale indoor and outdoor installations and artworks."

There were dancers, slides, tunnels, hotels, bars, confessions and so much more. Each exhibition was something different and interesting to do. One favourite in particular was a giant fountain that you could stand in, walls opened and closed to either let you in or trap you in a wall of water.

If you got peckish there are plenty of restaurants and food stalls around the exhibits. Lobster rolls, Tapas, Cheese and Halloumi. Not to mention being able to grab yourself a cocktail or some freshly squeezed juice. If your in London for day or even afternoon I would definitely check whats going on along the riverside.

Get the tube to westminster, take your photo by Big Ben and walk over the bridge towards the London Eye. If you keep walking along the river you'll walk under a bridge and find the most amazing book fair. I've managed to pick up a few art prints there too for a bargain price!

Did you go to The Festival of Love or any similar events over the summer?
