Building a MAC Palette

With A/W right round the corner I have been flicking through magazines for inspiration. One article that really stood out was in the August issue of Harper's Bazaar. Now if you've read my blog from the start, or even just recently you would have heard me mention my love for a clean face, and not just through skincare. I was never adventurous with lip shades or even my eyes. But this is the season of change. I made my first journey into experimentation and purchased a MAC quad filled with eye shadows I can't wait to try!

Grey has struck the catwalk with the technique of creating a natural shadow, not an eyeshadow. Using enough shadow to enhance the eyes, but keeping it low key. I am making the transition from warm browns to cooler beige's and yes even grey. Idol Eyes is a silvered violet with gold undertones, great for adding a feminine touch to a dark smokey eye. Knight Divine is a shimmer black with silver undertones, perfect for adding depth and glamour.

Of course I wanted to experiment a touch more, so I brought two more colours in to tie everything together. Nylon is a pale gold with an icy shimmer, teaming up with Idol Eyes as an inner corner and brow bone highlight. And finally something with a pop of colour. I'm not one for lips, but the gothic/elegant wine-stained trend caught my eye. Presenting, Cranberry a deep red shimmer to act as a main for Knight Divine's shadow.

I'm really quite happy with my choices, and can't wait to incorporate them into my everyday routine a bit more. Hopefully the subtle sheen and berry shadows will add a sense of mystery to the new season.

What will you be using for Autumn? Have you tried any of these colours from MAC?
