Natural Makeup Bag

There are day's when sometimes I'm running a little late, or simply don't want to sit in front of the mirror for too long. And for this, i have come up with a system. The five product face. The idea came to experiment when of course you see bloggers and you tubers trying their hardest to size down their makeup bag, but when i bought an issue of Harper's Bazaar last month. Carey Mulligan was on the cover and oh my gosh, did she look amazing. Perfection in female form, but so natural and minimalesk! So far my experimenting has found quite a few looks, and they're growing. And of course, i just have to share them with you! The first of this hopefully on going series is my most used, and in my opinion the look that requires minimal effort. El Natural.

The base, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. This is without a doubt my favourite lightweight foundation of all time. Enough to even out your skin tone, cover the majority of minor blemishes and don't forget it's buildable to suit your needs. It has an SPF of 15 which to me is one less product to think about, perfect.  (Mentioned here in an earlier post.) I use this just after my moisturiser to keep it light and dewy. For a flawless base i target imperfections with The Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and blend in using my ring finger. It does have a matt finish but i find that when i build up as much as i need it can blend into my foundation really well. My cheeks are naturally quite rosy so to speak, so i normally skip blusher and focus of highlighter. My weapon of choice, MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle. I lightly dust this along my cheekbones and down the top of my nose, this gives off the right amount of natural highlight without too much shimmer. And i find that this really suits my skin tone, especially when my hair is down as i have quite natural toned hair. (Minus the dip dye) If however you aren't the biggest highlight fan or simply prefer blush, swap them over. Whatever suits you.

For the eyebrows i simply comb them through with a brush and move straight onto the eyes. Now the thing i love about MAC Soft and Gentle is that it can be used in a multiple of ways. I double this product as a eyeshadow. Taking a fluffy brush i sweep it over the lid and blend out up to the brow bone. I find that as long as you don't over use this product it can look great in a multiple of ways. For the eye lashes i like to keep it fairly natural. My favourite mascara for this is YSL Volume Mascara. The brush is packed out with fine bristles which reduces the chances of clumping. I wiggle the brush through the base of my lashes and then wing out the sides to thicken them out. Once I've done both eyes i then pop some more through the ends of my lashes to lengthen them. For the bottom lashes i just lightly brush through the roots to add some colour.

Last but not least i run Dior Addict Lip Glow over my lips for some moisture and colour. Because of it's formula i can always rely of this for an enhanced natural lip. I have a full review here which goes into a lot more detail on the formula and it's results.

What products can you rely on for a minimal makeup look? Would you like to see more from this series?
