'On The Go' Makeup Essentials.

Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Coral Reef // Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick By Kate Moss in 01 // Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle.

As promised in my last post, 'On the go' Beauty Essentials, today is going to be all about the makeup. You've had those days when you have 10 minutes left and you still haven't brushed your teeth or found what to wear, let alone put your face on. As I've mentioned before I've had quite a few early risings, followed by a train journey. Because of this routine i have managed to put together a look that will make people question the time it took to do it. My manager still doesn't believe me.

First up of course is the base, and i didn't even have to think twice. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, it's packaging is perfectly suited for a good ol' journey. The flat base and small nib are perfect for propping up on the fold out table and using small bits at a time. You don't want to over do it. Trust me, i have cringed at many unnoticed disasters! It's light coverage is great for a natural finish and It's buildable qualities are perfect for any skin mishaps. Secondly i go over any redness that my foundation hasn't covered with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. This high street cult product can cover pretty much anything and its dove foot applicator is perfect for dotting where you need it and blending in with your fingers for a flawless base!

For cheeks I've been using a rather recent purchase. The Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Coral Reef. Not only is the colour amazing (see for yourself in the photo above) the formula is something to scream to the high heavens about. It's creamy enough to smooth onto the apples of your cheeks with your fingers and powerful enough to stay there all day. The use of a brush isn't necessary but optional. Of course my face wouldn't be complete without one of my most used and beloved products. MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle. I know i speak about this a lot, but honestly i have used it almost every single day since i bought it, well over a year ago now! (And i have only recently hit pan) Just like the Revlon Cream Blush i smooth this on with my fingers, across the cheek bones and down the nose. Now when time is short this product brings so much more to the table. As explained here also, this wonderproduct can double as an eyeshadow. I just smooth onto the lid and blend out to the bottom of my brown bone using a clean finger. In my last 'On the go' post i spoke about the importance of travel sized hand wipes, as you can probably now understand why. To finish off the eyes i just coat my lashes with my trusty L'Oreal Telescopic Waterproof Mascara. This will not budge all day and that is a promise.

Lightly dusting Revlon's Nearly Naked eliminates all chances of shine and ensures that all your hard work over the last 5 or so minutes is kept at it's best. This powder is light enough to avoid cakeface and act as a setting powder, and durable enough to keep you shine free for half the day. (A top up may be needed on your lunch break) And last but not least, the Pièce de résistance! In last months Allure there was a segment on Blurred edge lipstick. Of course i print screened it and totally forgot to blog about it. As per usual. So when Lilly Pebbles from What I Heart Today posted her interpretation of it, i was reminded to give it a go. When frantically collecting everything i needed i threw in something bright and red. Rimmel's Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss in 01. The only was i can describe this colour is a vampy deep red. So when it came to applying this i was petrified. After a few minutes of contemplation i smoothed the thinnest line across the inside of lips and smoothed them together. Surprisingly it worked. I was rather chuffed with myself and popped everything back into my tiny Baylis and Harding travel bag. Its about the same size as a kindle, and yes everything fit nicely with plenty of room for a few more bits if i needed them.

And there you have it, a face worthy of office envy in 10 minutes or so. And that is with time to finish your uppercrust coffee.

What makeup items do you use when on the go? Have you experimented with blurred edge lips?
